CRESTED BUTTE SKI CLUB PROGRAMS
SCHOLARSHIPS
CBSSC’s primary purpose is to offer scholarships to competitive ski and snowboard athletes. Our scholarships ensure that 1. competitive ski and snowboard programs and competition are accessible, 2. the most committed and talented athletes are participating, 3. the programs have strong membership, and 4. the Club’s mission is fulfilled.
EDUCATION
The goal of providing educational resources is to encourage and promote the progress and growth of competitive skiing and snowboarding in the Gunnison Valley. This includes, but is not limited to supporting community ski and snowboard related events, coaches’ training and education, and strengthening developemental ski and snowboarding programs in the Gunnison Valley.
EVENTS
CBSSC enjoys a long history of providing finanacial and other direct support for ski and snowboard events in the Gunnison Valley. Events are focused on either fundraising, competition, or both and help promote the sports and raise necessary funds which support the Club’s other programs. The Club works with Crested Butte Mountain Resort to attract high-quality, competitive events which benefit the local athletes and the Club’s mission as a whole. While CBMR is responsible for managing all “on-hill” aspects of competitive events, the Club supports each event by providing necessary volunteers, promoting social events that coincide with competitions and ensuring that the Club and its athletes, the Gunnison Valley and its programs are appreciated by all.
INFRASTRUCTURE
CBSSC provides financial and programmatic support to the Crested Butte Mountain Sports Team in General. This program is the Crested Butte Ski Club’s investment in the future of skiing and snowboarding in the Gunnison Valley. These resources may include financial support to offset program fees for all athletes, support for capital improvements that would benefit CBMST athletes, equipment purchases that are necessary fr training and events, athlete apparel, or othe dministratie purchases that may fall outside the CBMST budget. The sole purpose of this activity is to support amateur athletes and the Club’s mission. In most cases the Club maintains ownership of any assets.
